Contribution on Educational Sector of Bangladesh

Mr. Taher has made great contributions to the education sector in Bangladesh as well. He is one of the founders of Al Emdad Degree College in Golapganj, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He is also the founder, member and director of Bridge Academy, an English-medium school in Sylhet, which has made a great contribution to the education sector of the country and the community in which it is located. At Bridge Academy all children will receive an excellent education. The vision of Bridge Academy is to enabling all children and young people to be confident and competent in English and ICT – two key skills that are vital for economic success in our globalised world. Bridge Academy believes in offering learning to the whole community and provides a Bridge Academy Plus programme. This programme offers courses in our specialist subjects of English and ICT to parents and the local community. There are also students in Bridge Academy that Mr. Taher himself pays for children to be admitted into Al Emdad Degree College and other schools, the children sponsored are less fortunate and come from poorer backgrounds with their parents not able to pay for an education for them. Mr. Taher believes by doing this Bridge Academy students and students who participate in other schools will have a strong sense of social responsibility and will be ready to be future leaders in their community.
