Abu Taher is the Founder Secretary & Current President of Shanghati Literary Society. He has been writing since childhood and is the author of numerous stage plays and poetry collections. His published works include plays such as Tadbir, Idea and Mullah Visit, Shobordhona, Podoi Babu, Biyer Ghonta, Shood, and Gonthobo, as well as the acclaimed poetry collection Mar Shalader Mar. He founded the Shanghati Literary Society in 1989 to provide a platform for young British Bangladeshis to explore literature, identity, and social justice. He continues to serve as the society’s President, championing Bengali literature and cultural engagement across the diaspora.
